The Okavango Delta is the third largest inland delta in Africa with a unique landscape and fauna. Its natural diversity and biodiversity is barely to surpass. Each year in May the Okavango basin fills up with water coming from Angola. Then most camps and lodges can only be reached by air. Within the following 4 months the water seeps away into the sandy ground.
Some lodges and camps are completely surrounded by water and offer therefore a lot of water activities. Due to this natural cycle new landscapes emerge again and again. The three major distributaries carry water all year round, but the selection of camps depends strongly on the season. In the Okavango Delta you can find exclusive camps like Mombo Camp, Little Mombo Camp or Abu Camp.
