Masai Mara National Park - founded in 1961 - is located in the south west of Kenya close to the border to Tanzania. Together with the Serengeti it builds an ecological unit. Due to the diversified landscape and the huge biodiversity Masai Mara National Park belongs to one of the most beautiful Parks in the world.
The National Park's name originates from the nomad tribe Masai and from the river Mara. Open spaces of the park are dominated by wide and hilly grassland with a few acacia - therefore, visitors enjoy very good opportunities for wildlife viewing.
